The Breakfast and Brunch Express, Issue #18 Dessert Breads November 20, 2007 |
Hello!This month: Dessert Breads
In this issue of the Breakfast and Brunch Express, find some old-fashioned dessert breads and quick breads that can be just the added touch for your Thanksgiving breakfast, brunch, or evening meal.
Wow, I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week already. I am sure it was Spring just a day ago or so. We just had our first few sprinkles of snow up here in Wisconsin, as I am writing this newsletter. While Thanksgiving is a US based holiday, I hope everyone can relate to taking a moment and giving thanks to all of people in our lives who make it what it is, whether it be friends, family or spouses. The quick bread recipes below are some of my families' favorites and I hope you will enjoy them as well. They are quick and easy and add a nice bit of extra flavor to breakfast or brunch. They can also be used as a dessert bread to complement a casual evening meal. If you will be traveling for the upcoming holidays, these bread recipes also make an easy food to bring to someone's home. Serve dessert breads warm with a spread of butter, cream cheese, or honey or enjoy them plain at room temperature. They are good either way. In the next issue: I am currently working on some Christmas brunch recipes and menus for the holidays that I am hoping to have ready soon to share with you. Happy Eating and Happy Thanksgiving!
