Apple cider syrup is made with fresh apple cider, brown sugar, cloves and cinnamon. Serve this simple fresh tasting pancake syrup over pancakes, waffles, or French toast for breakfast or brunch.

You can also use this pancake syrup as an aromatic sauce on top of ice cream, bread pudding, or oatmeal.
The resulting product is meant to be a thinner syrup. It will thicken to some degree during cooking, but will not be thick like a commercial pancake syrup that uses other ingredients to make the product thicken.
If you have not made a homemade syrup before, it can seem as if this recipe turns out too thin, but it is meant to be a thinner syrup.
