Baked French Toast Recipe

A delicious baked French toast recipe made with French bread, dipped in egg, and coated with crushed corn flakes.

Serve this French toast warm for breakfast or brunch with maple, blueberry, or apple cinnamon syrup.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Baking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

4 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups crushed corn flakes
1 loaf Texas toast or French bread, cut into 10 slices

Kitchen Equipment Needed

Medium mixing bowl
Flat plate
Buttered baking sheet

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the eggs together until light and lemon colored.

Step 3: Add in the milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Whisk together until combined.

Step 4: Crush the corn flakes in a ziploc bag with the palm of your hand or a rolling pin. Spread them on a dinner plate.

Step 5: Dip each of the bread slices into egg mixture using a fork. Turn to coat the other side of the bread.

Step 6: Take the slice of bread and dredge it into the corn flakes. Turn over and repeat on the other side.

Step 7: Continue with all slices of bread and arrange on a buttered baking sheet.

Step 8: Bake for 5 minutes and remove from oven. Turn each slice of bread over with a spatula and bake an additional 5 minutes.
