Fresh Buttermilk Banana Bread



This buttermilk banana bread recipe is made from butter, sugar, eggs, and bananas.

Fresh buttermilk inside makes a very moist and delicious quick bread.

Banana nut bread is also good for an afternoon snack the next time you have a craving for banana bread.

Serve this quick bread warm with butter for a nice breakfast or brunch treat or with a cream cheese spread. or try a Banana Smoothie for breakfast.

Ingredient List:

1/2 Cup butter
1 Cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 Cup fresh buttermilk
2-1/4 Cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 c. mashed bananas (about 3 extra ripe bananas)
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Kitchen Equipment Needed

Medium mixing bowls
9" x 5" x 3" loaf baking pan, greased and floured.

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix well.

Step 3: Stir baking soda into buttermilk and add to mixture.

Step 4: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.

Step 5: Stir in mashed bananas

Step 6: Stir in nuts.

Step 7: Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Step 8: Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
