Prep Time:
20 minutes

Bake Time: 60 minutes

Ingredient List:

1/2 Cup butter, softened to room temperature
1 Cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
1 Cup fresh buttermilk
2-1/4 Cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 c. mashed bananas (about 3 medium extra ripe bananas)
1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped

Kitchen Equipment Needed

One medium mixing bowl
One large mixing bowl
One 9" x 5" x 3" loaf baking pan, greased and floured.

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar; add beaten eggs and mix well.

Step 3: Slowly stir in the fresh buttermilk and mix until fully incorporated.

Step 4: In a separate large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.

Step 5:  Add in the wet ingredients from the first bowl to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Step 6: Stir in the mashed bananas.

Step 7: Stir in the chopped walnuts.

Step 8: Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Step 9: Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
