
This
tender
crumb coffee cake is made with eggs, milk,
butter, and sugar and has a sugar crumb crust.
Make this moist and tender crumb coffeecake to serve with your
favorite steaming cup of flavored coffee or tea for breakfast or
brunch.
This cake recipe takes
only 15 minutes to
prepare and about 1 hour to bake. You may need to double the
recipe, as this sweet coffee cake will be gone in no time!
Crumb Coffee Cake
This
recipe is from my grandmother's recipe box collection.

Baking Time:
50-60 minutes
Ingredient List:
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
Baking Equipment Needed
8" x 8" square baking pan or dish, greased and
floured
1 medium size mixing bowl
Pastry blender (helpful, but not completely necessary)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325
degrees.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix
together the flour, baking
powder, sugar, salt and butter as for a pie crust with a pastry
blender. Save 1 cup of the crumbs for topping.
Step 3: To the remaining mixture,
add the vanilla, eggs, and milk and mix well.
Step 4: Pour batter into an 8" x
8" square greased and floured baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved crumbs
on top of the batter
Step 5: Bake for 50-65 minutes at
325 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cut into 9 equal servings. Double the
recipe for a 9" x 13" pan.
