One of the best memories I have is making homemade doughnuts with my Grandma on an early Saturday morning when I was about 8 or 10 years old.

I remember watching them rise on the counter and then fry in the oil in a deep cast iron skillet on the stove.

I didn't want to miss a minute of it...especially when Grandma was drizzling the glaze on top of the hot doughnuts!

Doughnuts are delicious to eat any time, but always the best when served with a good cup of coffee or orange juice and good company.
