French Toast with Cinnamon Raisin Bread

This recipe for French toast is made with cinnamon raisin bread and dipped in a delicious mixture of rich evaporated milk, egg, and vanilla. Serve for breakfast or brunch.

French Toast


Pour apple cinnamon syrup or blueberry syrup over the hot fried toast, sprinkle with a bit of powdered sugar, and garnish with your favorite fruit. Orange juice and bacon round out the breakfast.

This is an easy item to serve to your friends and family for breakfast or brunch. This quick and easy breakfast recipe is ready to eat in less than 30 minutes.

Serving Suggestion:

Place two slices of cinnamon toast on a plate. Sift confectioner's sugar (powdered sugar) lightly over the fried toast. Garnish with fresh fruit slices of your choice.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredient List:

3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1/8 teaspoon of salt
8 slices cinnamon raisin bread
2 Tablespoons of butter

Kitchen Equipment Needed

Large mixing bowl
10"- 12" nonstick skillet or frying pan

Instructions:

Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine evaporated milk, egg, vanilla, and salt with a whisk. Set aside.

Step 2: Over medium heat, add 1 Tablespoon of butter to the frying pan or skillet and allow to melt.

Step 3: Dip four of the slices of cinnamon bread into the mixture, coating both sides evenly.

Step 4: When the butter is melted, place four slices into the frying pan and cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.

Step 5: Remove and repeat by adding the last Tablespoon of butter to the frying pan, letting it melt, and frying the next four slices.

Step 6: Remove and place on a warming platter or plate until ready to serve. Serve immediately.

Serves 4.
