This month:A Brunch Tea Party

Hello Everyone!

I am very excited to write this month's newsletter as preparing these recipes was especially fun for me. The idea for this newsletter was a reader suggestion from a survey conducted a few months ago. I had a lot of fun preparing these "fussy cookies". They are a far cry from the standard chocolate chip I usually make for our family.

The idea of a brunch tea party to me brings thoughts of dainty sandwiches and cookies spread out amongst an antique linen and good china. If you have a nice set of china, there are not too many opportunities these days to be able to use it, except for major holidays. This is a perfect time to make the china sparkle and set the table properly and invite over some close friends or host a church gathering over a good pot of tea and some delicious goodies.

There are many reasons to host a tea party. You may know a great group of ladies that have a common interest or it may be in celebration of a special event. Hosting a tea party could be a nice way to get together with your new neighbors, for a church gathering, a thank you for special people in your life, a Garden Club brunch or a book club gathering. A summer bridal or baby shower is a nice opportunity for planning a tea party as well.

A Brunch Tea party: On this page, find tips and ideas for planning a party, invitations, decorating and setting a proper table for tea, how to serve tea, and tea party recipes.

Recipes to make when hosting a tea: Complement your tea party with any of the recipes shown below. Scroll down and find recipes for tea sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, spice cookies, cream scones, orange coconut tea cookies, and lemon tea biscuits.

Tea Cookie Recipe Cookbook: Discover how a formal tea party was hosted in early American times, photos and descriptions of early tea sets, instructions on how to set your table for a tea party, explanations of the different types of tea, instructions on how to brew a perfect pot of tea, and tea etiquette.

Additional Resources

This website The Tea Party Girl also contains a wealth of information on tea and hosting a party and can help you to decide what type of tea to serve.

This page also contains quite a few articles on hosting afternoon teas.

I am planning on adding many more recipes to my page on tea parties, so you may want to bookmark this page or add it to your favorites and check back every so often for the newest additions.

Happy ating!
